Message from the Executive Director
Welcome to the 25th anniversary season of the Long Island Film Festival. It's been a remarkable journey indeed for the little film festival that could, that did, and still does. When the Festival first took flight, it was a unique enterprise for the Long Island region. For its first ten annual editions, the LIFF reigned as the only one on the Island to give crucial public support to the area's student and professional filmmakers, and the accompanying skills and artistry of the production crews.
As the "Johnny Appleseed" of film festivals in the region, the Long Island Film Festival laid the groundwork for the eventual proliferation of film festivals that now grace the area.
Our history of presenting unique indie film programs and special events to Long Island audiences is long and varied, and our appreciation to our presenting partner is sincere.
